People Operations Specialist

Job Summary
Rentman is seeking a People Operations Specialist to own Rentman’s People Operations, running the monthly payroll cycle, HR administration in Personio, onboarding/offboarding, and visa/IND processes for international hires, while owning the employee experience. The role partners with the Head of People & Legal, the Senior People Business Partner, and the Office Operations Manager to ensure smooth payroll, onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing People Ops improvements. Responsibilities include executing onboarding from pre-boarding to day 1, handling sick leave intake and case administration, coordinating 30% ruling and IND processes, issuing standard employment contracts from Legal templates, and documenting recurring processes in Confluence. The position contributes to performance cycle readiness (Performance Reviews, eNPS, L&D, Personal Scorecard), data prep, and supporting payroll automation initiatives with Finance, as well as exploring AI and automation opportunities in People Ops admin.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in a People Operations, HR Admin, or People Specialist role at a scale-up or SMB
- NL payroll experience strongly preferred; multi-country a plus
- Solid working knowledge of Dutch employment law and admin: contracts, sick leave, Wet Poortwachter, 30% ruling, and visa/IND basics
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS—Personio is a strong plus; comparable tools are fine
- Fluency in English and Dutch
- Documentation habit; Confluence page for recurring processes
- Confidentiality in payroll and HR processes
- Strong communication and proactive task handover
- Ability to partner with Finance on payroll automation
- Interest in AI tools in operational work
- Exposure to onboarding programme design or BP cycle support
