People Operations Specialist

Job Summary
Manage staff file management and HRIS systems for the entire employment life cycle, from onboarding to termination. Process new hire paperwork, collect background checks, and maintain the integrity of confidential People Operations records. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while auditing the ADP system and maintaining internal process trackers. Coordinate open enrollment, manage leave-of-absence requests, and assist with candidate interviews and new hire orientations. Schedule and assist with onboarding activities, ensuring accurate timecard approvals for payroll processing. Support the department's mission by creating process templates, visual aids, and documentation to ensure standard, reproducible work across all areas. Serve as a point of contact for working groups, organizing and sharing relevant documentation and reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent education/experience
- 3+ years Human Resources experience in a highly technical environment
- Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms and systems
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential
- Exceptional technology skills
- Expert skill with MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Extremely attentive to details, particularly with written communications, and PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to anticipate needs and use good business judgment in escalating priority issues
- Extremely confidential; experienced in handling highly sensitive information discreetly
- Accountable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Very flexible, able to pivot quickly as priorities change
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear
- Occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds
- Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
- Expectation of adjusting to work outside of the standards operating hours as needed
- Travel between locations is expected in the role
