Job Summary
As People Operations Partner for Germany, you will lead and scale Germany HR operations and compliance within a fast-moving startup. You’ll own onboarding experiences, manage contracts through to HRIS workflows (HiBob), ensure documentation and processes are scalable as we expand internationally, and partner with external providers on payroll and benefits. You’ll align People practices with German employment law, build trusted relationships with the Germany team, drive culture initiatives across global teams, and partner with leaders to support employee development and team effectiveness. You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, bring structure and pragmatic judgement to ambiguous situations, and stay close to changes in German regulations while shaping and strengthening our culture across locations. Requirements include 4+ years in People Operations/HR generalist roles, fluency in English and German, strong knowledge of German employment law and HR compliance, experience supporting international teams, HRIS experience, and excellent stakeholder management. Nice-to-have skills include payroll/benefits experience in Germany, onboarding program improvements, experience in deep-tech or engineering-led organizations, and knowledge of global employment practices.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Business Partnering, People Partner or HR Generalist roles
- Fluent English and German communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong working knowledge of German employment law, HR compliance & operational HR practices
- Experience supporting international or global teams
- Hands-on experience managing HR operations, including contracts, onboarding, employee lifecycle administration & HRIS
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with HRIS platforms, including workflows, reporting or system administration
- Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail & operational discipline
