Job Summary

Support recruitment and selection for hotel positions by screening applicants, coordinating reference checks, and completing documentation. Maintain accurate, confidential employee personnel records and partner with department leaders to anticipate staffing needs and support workforce planning. Collect and analyze employee-related data, including exit interviews and turnover, to identify trends for engagement and retention. Coordinate People & Culture initiatives such as compensation processes, benefits enrollment, and training programs like new employee orientation and performance management. Respond to workplace concerns, document findings, and facilitate resolutions in accordance with company policies. Promote a positive workplace by providing guidance on procedures and ensuring compliance with employment legislation. Communicate policies to employees and leaders, facilitate training initiatives, and support workplace safety and workers' compensation processes. Prepare documentation for unemployment claims and participate in related hearings as required. Collaborate with stakeholders including Corporate People & Culture, Legal, and external agencies. May serve as Manager on Duty as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in Human Resources
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the property as required
  • Ability to handle documents, files, training materials, equipment, and other workplace items
  • Ability to use a keyboard and computer to prepare and maintain work-related documents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees, vendors, Corporate People & Culture, Legal, and other internal and external stakeholders

  • Professional Human Resources designation (e.g., CPHR, CHRP, PHR/SPHE, or equivalent)

  • Experience supporting a workforce of more than 300 employees
