Job Summary
Operationally-focused People & Culture Manager reporting to the Head of People & Culture (based in Sydney) to oversee day-to-day HR operations across multiple studios (Los Angeles, Sydney, Madrid). Responsibilities include managing employee relations and labor relations (including union negotiations with the Animation Guild), supporting recruitment, administering benefits and compensation benchmarking, driving employee engagement and culture initiatives, ensuring HR compliance and reporting, and advising managers on policies. The role requires partnering with the Legal team on union-related matters and collaborating on strategic HR projects to scale Flying Bark across studios while maintaining a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant workplace.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior HR role with expertise in employee relations and labor relations
- Experience dealing with unions (Local 839 and Local 700) and understanding of collective bargaining agreements
- Industry knowledge in animation or similar production environments preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
- Hybrid work arrangement offered
