Job Summary
People & Culture Director at New Life Center leads the full spectrum of human resources, including strategy, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, policy/compliance, compensation, training, and culture-building. The role partners with the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team to align HR initiatives with mission-driven priorities, develop leadership capacity, strengthen staff development and accountability, and ensure organizational culture reflects the center’s Christian faith and REAL values. Essential functions cover HR strategy, talent development, regulatory compliance (federal/state/local), employee lifecycle management, investigations and risk management, culture and engagement, HR infrastructure and budgeting, and supervising HR staff. Key skills include coaching leaders, emotional intelligence, conflict assessment, spiritual leadership integration, relationship-building, strong analytical/problem-solving abilities, confidentiality, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Paycom or similar HRIS. The role requires 5-8+ years of HR leadership, a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in a related field, and compliance with pre-employment checks; travel between program sites and occasional off-site engagements are possible. The position is based in Fargo, ND, and emphasizes a Christ-centered workplace culture aligned with the organization’s Statement of Faith.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Organizational Leadership, or related field preferred; HR certification preferred but not required
- 5-8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- experience in employee relations, performance management, corrective action, compensation, training, employee engagement, policy development, and compliance
- ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
- valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with proof of insurance
