Job Summary
Support a psychologically safe, trauma-informed workplace by partnering with leaders on recruitment, labour relations, health and safety, and performance management processes. Guide staff on employee relations matters including discipline, conflict resolution, and grievance processes while overseeing payroll, benefits, and disability management. Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding, and maintain accurate employee records and HR policies to ensure legislative compliance. Provide coaching on team effectiveness and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for HR systems and culture. Work Monday to Thursday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Fridays until 2:30 P.M., with some evenings and weekends required. Submit a criminal record check and child welfare check, and sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
- minimum of five years of progressive experience in a human resources generalist or business partner role
- Experience in recruitment and selection
- Experience in employee and labour relations
- Experience in occupational health and safety
- Experience with WCB
- Experience with disability management
- Experience with HR systems
- Experience preferably within a unionized environment
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation
- Strong knowledge of collective agreement interpretation
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices
