Job Summary
Staff in EY's People Advisory Services Mobility practice focusing on Japanese Business Services. You will support tax compliance and advisory services for globally mobile employees, preparing tax returns and delivering mobility tax compliance & advisory work including income tax calculations, cross-border share-based incentive schemes, expatriate compensation, and global/local employment tax compliance & advisory. Collaboration with colleagues worldwide, engagement with clients, and ability to navigate US tax concepts and related tax-processing systems are expected. A bachelor's degree is required, with 1–2 years of relevant experience; US CPA license or active EA status (or progress toward certification) is preferred. Native-level Japanese language skills and strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and MS Excel proficiency are required. The team operates in a flexible, hybrid model with most client-serving work expected to be in-person about 60% of the time over an engagement, project, or year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (expatriate tax, public accounting, or related preferred)
- US CPA license or active state bar membership or active progress toward certification; if not eligible, Enrolled Agent status or willingness to become an EA
- Native level Japanese language skills (speaking and writing)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of US tax concepts or willingness to learn
- Understanding of automated tax-processing systems and tax laws
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic tools
