Job Summary
Payroll Specialist I for SWBC PEO handles multi-state payroll processing for assigned clients and employees, including weekly/bi-weekly/semi-monthly/monthly schedules. Responsibilities include data entry, wage/deduction calculations, payroll reconciliation, resolving client payroll questions, maintaining W-4/I-9 records and processing E-Verify, handling garnishments, and ensuring accurate payroll records across multiple states, while providing strong customer service and confidentiality. Requires strong communication, Excel/Office proficiency, and ability to manage timely payroll processing and respond to client needs; high school diploma required with 3+ years of payroll experience; advanced degrees and payroll certifications are a plus and bilingual ability is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll processing, garnishments & general deductions, and W-2 & I-9 maintenance
Desired Qualifications
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Advanced degree a plus
- Experience with auto dealership payroll processing, garnishments & general deductions, and W-2 & I-9 maintenance may be required
