Job Summary
Pensions Specialist (Trustee) within the UK Pensions & Benefits team to support governance, management, and day-to-day operation of the firm’s trust-based UK defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes. Collaborates with Trustees, internal stakeholders, and external advisers to ensure schemes are operated compliantly and in line with governance best practice. Responsibilities include coordinating Trustee Boards and sub-committees, maintaining governance documentation and risk registers, overseeing projects (annual scheme audits, member communications, benefit statements), managing external administrator relationships and service delivery, supporting external advisers (auditors, actuaries, lawyers, investment consultants), and assisting the Pensions Manager in operation and governance of UK pension schemes. The role requires strong governance knowledge, stakeholder engagement, and a practical, detail-oriented, risk-aware approach.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with UK trust-based defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension schemes
- Experience supporting Trustee Boards or governance structures
- Strong understanding of UK pensions legislation, regulation, and governance best practice
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with a practical, problem-solving approach
- Strong organisational skills and ability to take ownership of workstreams and projects
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong focus on risk management and control
