Job Summary
Oversee actuarial loading and validation of complex Defined Benefit pension schemes by interpreting scheme rules, benefit specifications, and calculation methodologies. Review and sign off on actuarial rules, assumptions, calculations, and system outputs while supporting the design and testing of GMP Equalisation functionality. Translate actuarial requirements into practical system specifications and calculation logic, providing clear guidance on complex issues. Improve governance, controls, and auditability across the loading process through collaboration with Loading, Technical, Actuarial, PRT, and Client Services colleagues. This role contributes to the implementation of pension rules within administration platforms for Institutional Retirement's 700,000 institutional customers.
Required Qualifications
- FIA qualification or equivalent status
- Strong technical knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes
- Experience interpreting complex benefit structures and scheme documentation
- Confidence reviewing actuarial calculations and providing professional assurance
- Ability to explain complex actuarial requirements clearly to technical and operational colleagues
- Sound judgement and a collaborative, customer-focused approach
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with administration systems (ALPS/PPS desirable)
