Job Summary
Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS I/II) at PRIME AE Group, overseeing highway and structural construction inspection activities for PennDOT projects across Pennsylvania. Lead field inspection staff, monitor contractor operations, ensure work complies with PennDOT specifications and contract requirements, review plans and schedules, and prepare project documentation such as PSAs using mobile platforms (iPad/Kahua). Coordinate field staff assignments, provide direction to inspection personnel, and communicate with contractors, project managers, and PennDOT representatives to keep projects on schedule and within specifications. Requires experience in TCI, ability to lead teams, and knowledge of PennDOT Publication 408, RC/BC/TC, and related provisions; proficiency with construction documentation systems and cost estimates is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in transportation construction inspection (TCI) for highway and/or structure projects
- Relevant certifications may include NICET, ACI, NECEPT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt, Nuclear Gauge Certification
- Civil Engineering degree may be substituted for TCI experience and certifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise field staff
- Strong understanding of PennDOT standards, specifications, and inspection procedures
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
