Job Summary
Screen, test, evaluate, and treat injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver quality, patient-centered care. Conduct evaluations and treatments according to professional standards, considering diagnosis, history, and physician referrals to develop care plans with specific goals. Manage all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Maintain thorough and timely patient records, complete patient billing accurately, and participate in quality improvement processes and utilization review audits. Engage in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program.
Required Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license in states where you work
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Basic Computer skills
