Job Summary
Physically inspect returned equipment, fill out inspection forms, and expertly repair rental machinery including tractors, generators, and water pumps. Diagnose advanced electrical and hydraulic issues, rebuild drivetrains, and perform seal changes while maintaining shop, warehouse, and vehicle upkeep. Actively monitor repairs, communicate missing parts to supervisors, and mentor lower-tier mechanics. Cross-train with the Service Manager and execute field service deliveries. Fuel equipment, perform wash rack duties, and maintain an organized workspace. Requires valid driver's license, ability to operate forklifts and large vehicles, and 2+ years of similar repair experience.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar work environment with a proven track record of successful repairs, effective decision making, and excellent people skills
- Must be able to identify advanced electrical diagnostics and hydraulic problems for repair

- Must be able to expertly identify, make the required repair parts list, and quickly repair various rental equipment
- Must be able to physically inspect and fill out equipment inspection forms
- Must be comfortable and willing to move/use equipment such as, but not limited to, forklifts, large tractors, water trucks, RTVs, Jacks, etc
- Must be able to perform basic Wash Rack duties such as washing equipment and cleaning chemicals to remove all traces of dirt on rental equipment
- Must be able to perform interior cleaning, including inside of windows, of tractors and other equipment that have an operator's station
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective channels of communication with management, co workers, vendors, and all other business contacts
- Must be organized, independent, and self motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, and driven by excellence
- Must demonstrate proficient written and verbal communication skills, including accurate grammar and business correspondence

- Must be able to assist in the maintenance of the shop, warehouse, and vehicles, make deliveries and pickups, and work in the field service area, maintaining equipment at customer locations
- Must be able to ensure excellent service to both external and internal customers through the timely and accurate repair of equipment
- Must be able to communicate missing, broken, or damaged parts on outgoing or incoming equipment
- Must be able to timely monitor equipment repair in the shop
- Must be able to actively and aggressively look for missing, broken, or damaged equipment to help lower business costs
- Must be able to communicate with supervisor and other mechanics about shop questions or needs in either written or verbal form in a clear, professional, and efficient manner
- Must be able to ensure that in house labor and replacement costs are captured and entered via the work order system so that proper invoicing can occur
- Must be able to mentor and train Mechanics Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 at all branch levels
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs
- Must be able to drive, sit, bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, kneel, reach above the shoulder, climb or balance
- Must be able to stand and walk
- Must be able to grasp with hands and fingers, handle tools
- Must be able to see (including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception)
- Must be able to hear and speak
- Must be able to use Forklifts, tractors, and jacks
- Must be able to use Machines and tools
- Must be able to use computer and telephone
- Must be able to travel within close proximity of regular assigned work locations
