Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions in person or virtually via Zoom, providing constructive feedback on mechanics, grammar, and citations. Guide students in recognizing their writing strengths, identifying areas for growth, and developing independent strategies. Maintain accurate records of all sessions and respond promptly to messages from students and staff. Attend required trainings and ensure six hours of weekly availability during specified academic hours. Submit a faculty recommendation before applying.
Required Qualifications
- Have taken College Writing (ENG 120/120) or transfer equivalent and received a B or higher
- Basic understanding of academic writing and grammar
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and paces
- Ability to stay patient, calm, and respectful with students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student
- PSEO students are not eligible
- Have a United States social security number
- Have proper identification as determined by Form I-9
- Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts
- Have declared a major with CSP
- Leave a minimum of 6 hours of availability open in their schedule per week for students to schedule tutoring sessions
- At least 4 of the hours of a tutor's availability must occur during Monday: 10am-6pm
- At least 4 of the hours of a tutor's availability must occur during Tuesday: 11am-5pm
- At least 4 of the hours of a tutor's availability must occur during Wednesday: 10am-6pm
- At least 4 of the hours of a tutor's availability must occur during Thursday: 10am-6pm
- At least 4 of the hours of a tutor's availability must occur during Friday: 10am-4pm
