Peer Support Supervisor

Job Summary

Coordinate assessments, develop recovery-oriented person-centered plans, and monitor beneficiary progress through regular in-person or telehealth contacts. Plan work assignments, conduct monthly supervisory reviews, and facilitate skill-building groups to support staff and members. Manage 24:7 crisis response coordination, ensure timely care transitions following hospitalizations or incarceration, and establish relationships with integrated care teams and community resources. Maintain medical record compliance, review quality data, and participate in continuous improvement projects while adhering to agency policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Meet North Carolina's definition of a Qualified Professional per 10A-NCAC 27G.0104
  • A bachelor's degree in a field related to health, psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, or another relevant human services area, or licensure as a registered nurse (RN)
  • Two years of experience working directly with members with behavioral health conditions (if serving members with behavioral health needs) or with an I/DD or a TBI (if serving members with I/DD or TBI needs)
  • Trained in quality supervisory skills through an approved CPSS supervisory training program
  • Complete the CPSS Certification program
  • Possesses knowledge of the CPSS role and work
  • Understand the principles and philosophy of recovery
  • Understand the code of ethics of the NC Peer Support Specialist Certification Program
  • Complete mandatory CPSS supervisor training within 90 days of hire
  • Maintain a valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Acceptable criminal record
  • Health Registry Check that adhere to standard of employment
  • Demonstrate professional work ethics
  • Demonstrate knowledge of START Wellness, Inc. policies and procedures defined in the employee handbook
  • Complete training requirements
  • Attends all training sessions as required by the agency
  • Must have proficient interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability to make independent decisions
  • Must have efficient with agency Electronic Health Record and/or documentation standards
  • Must have effective oral and written communication
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to effectively work with all levels/division of START Wellness, Inc.

  • Understand and support the role of the CPSS
  • Understand and promote the beneficiary's recovery
  • Advocate for the CPSS and PSS across the organization and in the community
  • Promote both the professional and personal growth of the CPSS within established human resources standards
  • Collaborate with beneficiary(s) and CPSS to develop recovery-oriented person-centered plan for the beneficiary that demonstrates consideration for integrated care
  • Establish Relationships with Integrated Care / Team and Community Resources
  • Establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with member
  • Demonstrates understanding of members rights and ensures member's rights are protected
  • Participates in activities to promote personal growth and development
