Job Summary
Peer Support Specialist/Trainee on Frontier Behavioral Health’s PACT team in Spokane. The role provides peer counseling and support to adults (and families) with behavioral health needs, promoting recovery, resilience, and community integration. Responsibilities include developing treatment objectives with a multidisciplinary team, facilitating individual and group recovery sessions, assisting clients to identify strengths and resources, mentoring for self-advocacy and community participation, supporting housing, education, and vocational goals, participating in discharge planning, maintaining confidential client records, and providing after-hours coverage as part of rotating schedules. Travel to community settings and between work sites is required; requires a valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle as needed. PAY varies by credential level (Peer Support Specialist Trainee, Certified Peer Support Specialist Trainee, Certified Peer Support Specialist, etc.), with hourly pay ranges and annualized equivalences described, and a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, holidays, retirement, health benefits, and professional licensure support.
Required Qualifications
- Self-identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder or both
- Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Peer Support Specialist Trainee Credential from the WA State Department of Health OR: If an Applicant does not have an active or pending Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Peer Support Specialist Trainee Credential from the WA State Department of Health, then must apply for the Certified Peer Support Specialist TRAINEE credential within 90 days of start date
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, be able to pass a motor vehicle screening and driving test, have active car insurance, and be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work
