Peer Support Specialist

Provide support and guidance to clients released from prison or jail, including those with severe mental illness, by assisting with individual service plans and crisis coping strategies. Share personal recovery stories to inspire individuals, advise on community resources for housing and employment, and facilitate skills-based groups to build self-worth. Develop positive social support networks and advocate for positive changes in recovery while attending treatment team meetings. Establish effective working relationships with the Judiciary, District Attorneys, Parole Agents, and local law enforcement officials. Document all services provided and assist individuals in making informed, independent choices regarding their reintegration.
