Job Summary
The Peer Support Specialist - Rural Sites provides individualized services within the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, supporting clients in recovery from serious mental illness or substance use. Responsibilities include engaging clients, providing individual and group services, teaching symptom management, connecting clients with resources, and maintaining a trauma-informed environment. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. Minimum qualifications include training through the Iowa Peer Workforce Collaborative and two years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate training through the Iowa Peer Workforce Collaborative
- Two years of paid or volunteer experience with individuals with SPMI/Substance use
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel throughout Southwest Iowa
Desired Qualifications
- Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) training preferred
