Job Summary
Provide services and supports to adults with mental health or substance use needs to help them achieve and maintain recovery goals. Duties include assessments, planning, linkage, advocacy, and monitoring; assist clients in obtaining entitlements, housing, educational opportunities, and employment to promote independence and functioning. Works with an interdisciplinary treatment team and adheres to ethical standards while maintaining a diverse case load. Requires a valid driver’s license and ongoing credentialing as a peer specialist.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma and documented proof of past mental health with at least two documented years of recovery
- Certification as a peer specialist is required
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
- Must present credentials that are current and valid and meet safe driving requirements
- Must submit to a driving record and criminal background screening
- Must be capable of satisfactorily performing all job functions with minimal supervision
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Must complete required training re: NCI, CPR/First Aid, HIPPA, Exposure control, Person-Centered Thinking, Client Rights, Peer Support, and NC DMHDDSAS required service definition training
