Job Summary

Peer Support Specialist for Crisis Stabilization and Crisis Residential programs in Anchorage, AK. Responsibilities include multidisciplinary team-based care, providing support and recovery training, advocacy for client rights, de-escalation and crisis resolution, milieu engagement, and care coordination. Requires CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills training upon hire; PSP I certification and immunization compliance. Alaska Native/American Indian preference in employment; on-site role within SCF's Alaska Native population service area. Employment includes working in short-term and 7-day crisis stabilization/residential settings with walk-ins and first responders, with an on-site schedule and full-time hours.

Required Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience working within a behavioral health environment
  • Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health Certification (ACBHC) Peer Support Professional I (PSP I) Certification
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills training upon hire
  • Immunization requirements: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19 vaccination
