Job Summary
Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist provides real-time crisis support in schools, homes, and community settings, using personal recovery experience to de-escalate crises, develop safety/crisis plans, and coordinate linkage and referrals to services. Responsibilities include direct crisis supports, ECO process support, progress documentation, and follow-up outreach, with mileage reimbursement for agency-vehicle responses or approved travel. This role requires flexible shifts including holidays and operates across multiple community settings to promote recovery and reduce inpatient psychiatric treatment.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED required
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
- Must be or have previously been a recipient of mental health services or substance use disorder services
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or able to obtain after hire within nine months
