Job Summary
Peer Support Specialist I provides peer support and recovery training to individuals receiving services at Recovery Innovations’ Evaluation & Treatment Center in Fife, WA. Duties include engaging individuals in a recovery partnership, teaching recovery and life skills using recovery tools, advocating for participants’ needs and rights, coordinating with the clinical team to arrange services, documenting as required, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Must have completed Peer Employment Training and obtain Certification as a Peer Support Specialist; requires High School Diploma or equivalent. Schedule includes Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternating Wednesdays, 7:00am–7:30pm. Salary range $21.00–$22.00/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.
- Skills: Basic computer skills; Ability to teach/train recovery information and recovery tools; Effective communication skills; Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass seven-year background check.
- Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
- Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
- Must be able to pass education verification check.
