Job Summary
Provides peer support and recovery training to individuals receiving services; engages individuals in a recovery partnership, teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools, and advocates for participants’ needs and rights. Works with the clinical team to arrange services/resources to help individuals achieve goals, maintains documentation and complies with regulations and internal policies, and supports community living and connectedness. Requires Peer Employment Training and certification, High School Diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background checks, drug testing, and fingerprinting. Shift availability includes 2–12-hour shifts per month; position may involve remote work (warmline) and travel as needed. Eligible candidate will be a Second-Chance Employer participant with a focus on confidentiality and professional conduct; benefits include health/dental/vision coverage, retirement plan, PTO, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Peer Support Certification
- Experience in mental health and/or substance use services
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to pass de-escalation training
- Must be able to pass background checks and fingerprinting
- Must be 18 years or older (or as required by funder regulations)
- Travel required based on business need
- Able to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA)
