Job Summary
Provides peer support and recovery training to individuals receiving services at a crisis-focused Recovery Center. Advocates for clients, teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools, helps identify hopes and dreams, and supports development of natural supports and community living. Works with the clinical team to arrange services, ensures completion of required documentation, maintains compliance with regulations and internal policies, and collaborates across teams to help individuals achieve recovery goals. Maintains professionalism, confidentiality (HIPAA), and participates in ongoing training and development; role may include driving requirements and travel as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a rotating evening schedule (2:00pm–11:30pm) in Fayetteville, NC, requiring a Peer Specialist certification and high school equivalency.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services
- Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements
- Ability to pass background checks and related screenings
- Travel required based on business need
