Job Summary
Peer Support Specialist with lived experience leads crisis stabilization for adults during the 7:00 PM–7:30 AM overnight shift at the Indio Crisis Walk-in Center. Provides non-clinical de-escalation, facilitates individualized safety planning, and assists participants in navigating behavioral health and social services. Works within a multidisciplinary clinical team, maintains peer notes, and uses approaches like Intentional Peer Support (IPS) and Wellness tools (WRAP). Requires CA PSS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) and a High School Diploma or GED or higher. Compensation includes base $31-$35/hour plus stacking differentials (Night +$3/hour; Bilingual +$2/hour) with potential total pay up to $40/hour; sign-on bonus of $500 for active CA PSS certification. Schedule is fixed, in-person, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, Monday–Wednesday with four consecutive days off weekly. Located in Indio, CA. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent or higher
- California PSS Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Lived experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use recovery
- Ability to pass standard background check and drug screening
- Reliable transportation to Indio site for 7:00 PM shift starts
