Job Summary
The Peer Support Specialist will provide recovery-based supportive services to Coastal Horizons clients, including assisting incarcerated individuals seeking treatment to access services, coordinating care, transporting clients if needed, and engaging at the onset of treatment services. Responsibilities include promoting consumer engagement in therapy and appointments, completing service documentation, pursuing ongoing continuing education, assisting with recovery support and resource acquisition, and working in various settings. Requires HS diploma or higher plus peer support certification; personal recovery experience considered valuable. Onsite role based in Brunswick County (Shallotte), NC with full-time schedule (Mon-Fri). Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or higher
- peer support specialist certification
- personal experience as a consumer of mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment or equivalent experience preferred
