Job Summary
Provide peer support, mentorship, and advocacy to individuals receiving behavioral health services, leveraging lived experience to promote recovery, coping skills, and self-determination. Duties include collaborating with clinical staff, facilitating peer-led groups and educational sessions, documenting assessments and treatment plans, ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance, staying current with required trainings, and traveling to contracted nursing facilities to support residents and staff. Requires empathy, active listening, cultural competence, and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams; certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a peer support specialist training program
- Certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening with documented results, completed within the last 12 months
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination, if required by contracted nursing facility
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned nursing facilities
