Job Summary
Conduct 24/7 mobile community outreach to adults in crisis, including mental health, substance use, and suicidal emergencies. Partner with Crisis Response Specialists to provide assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, linkage to services, and follow-up care. Deliver non-clinical support to consumers after initial crisis resolution and demonstrate competency in peer-to-peer assistance before independent service delivery. Participate in mandatory de-escalation and crisis training programs. Requires full-time employment with various shifts, a valid driver's license, and specific certifications such as CRSP or CPRS. Staff work in teams to prioritize crisis de-escalation without law enforcement unless necessary for safety.
Required Qualifications
- Must be trained in crisis intervention
- At least 2 years of continuous recovery from an SMI or SUD diagnosis
- At least one year of field experience working with community individuals
- Participation in DMHAS approved de-escalation, mental health crisis, substance use crisis, and suicide training
- Certification from at least one of the following: Addiction Professional Certification Board as a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP), Mental Health Association in New Jersey as a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP), NAADAC as a National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS), Certified Wellness Coach, or Community Mental Health Associate certificate
- Driver's license in good standing with no recent suspensions or violations of careless/reckless driving or excessive speeding of more than 20 MPH
- No more than two moving violations within the last 3 years
