Job Summary
Provide peer support services using lived recovery experience to encourage engagement, hope, and recovery for patients in the Spindale Opioid Treatment Program. Build supportive relationships while collaborating with clinical staff to identify needs and access community resources such as mutual aid meetings and social services. Serve as the primary front office contact for patients and visitors, coordinating registration, scheduling, and documentation within the electronic health record. Verify demographic and insurance information, process payments, and maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Identify patients in crisis to notify appropriate staff and promote patient self-advocacy and recovery planning. Maintain patient confidentiality, support daily administrative functions including inventory, and ensure efficient patient flow for medication administration and clinical services.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Current credential as a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist
Desired Qualifications
- Prior office administration experience, particularly in a healthcare setting with careful attention to patient confidentiality/HIPAA
