Job Summary
Provide on-site coverage during scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday shifts from noon to 5 PM. Deliver mutual peer support via the MHAW Peer Support Line by answering calls, offering active listening, and helping individuals identify recovery goals. Maintain communication through follow-up calls and voicemails while building trusting, strength-based relationships with participants connected to Recovery Center East. Facilitate peer support groups, workshops, and community events, and assist with outreach efforts to increase service utilization. Collaborate with the team to support program goals and respond to program-related requests. Complete one monthly team supervision session and one weekly supervision with a direct report.
Required Qualifications
- Progress toward or maintenance of New York Certified Peer Specialist-Provisional (NYCPS-P) certification
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed peer support principles
- A commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Basic computer, reading, and writing skills
- Valid and clean NYS Driver's License
