Job Summary
Provide training and assist new employees in understanding recovery concepts while supporting a peer culture. Educate service participants on recovery and engage them in the Wellness Recovery Action Plan process. Facilitate self-help groups for residents with behavioral health issues and co-facilitate community meetings to nurture peer support. Assist residents in developing skills from their individual service plans, including accompanying them to appointments and social activities. Model self-advocacy by sharing personal recovery experiences and encourage residents to share their own stories. Keep treatment teams informed of potential issues and strengths, and actively participate in team meetings to ensure a recovery perspective guides all discussions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Able to use an Electronic Health Record
- History of receiving behavioral health services
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with a psychiatric or intellectual disability, paid or unpaid
- Pennsylvania approved certification as a peer specialist
- WRAP Certification
