Peer Specialist - ADT

Job Summary
Provide peer support to adults 18+ with severe mental health challenges within the ADT team; build recovery-oriented relationships, assist in developing WRAP and wellness goals, advocate for peers, educate professionals from the perspective of lived experience, document in the Electronic Health Record, participate in co-reflection trainings and ongoing trainings, and support crisis intervention as needed (evening/weekend availability) within a non-profit behavioral health setting in Dover, NH.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Lived experience of mental illness & recovery and/or has worked in a Peer Support Center
- Capable of working independently as well as a member of a team
- Maintain Intentional Peer Support certification as applicable
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to utilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job
- Valid driver’s license, proof of adequate automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically and mentally capable of performing multiple tasks under stressful situations; Able to respond appropriately in crisis situations with clients; Must be capable of recording and consuming data electronically; Able to stand, stretch, bend, walk, lift and transport a minimum of 10 pounds; Physically able to drive; Able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time; All candidates must pass a background check which includes, but is not limited to, criminal and driving records to be considered for the job.
