Job Summary
Provide peer recovery support services to patients with substance use disorder and/or mental health services in inpatient, residential and/or outpatient settings. Responsibilities include patient orientation, data entry into Avatar for admissions/discharges, supervision of patient activities, conducting body and property searches, annual certification in UA testing and search procedures, administering waived tests as needed, medication calls, assisting with coordination of health services across mental health, SUD, housing, and primary medical care, encouraging patient engagement and self-management, educating and equipping patients with coping tools, helping patients develop community living skills, attending trainings and meetings, and modeling recovery through peer support and ethical professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or above
- Class C License or Class B license (if required by job assignment)
- Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (PSSC)
- Minimum 1 years' experience in behavioral healthcare and/or providing peer support services.
