Job Summary
Peer Recovery Support Specialist uses lived experience to align with DCPP-involved clients to develop and achieve client-identified goals. Meets with voluntary clients in the community to assist in networking mutual support meetings, navigating social services and DCPP objectives and acting a sober advocate for client in their recovery journey. Maintains written weekly and monthly reports, schedules and attends meetings in the community, supports clients in meeting identified goals, and ensures agency vehicle is maintained. Collaborative with coworkers and DCPP; strong written and verbal communication; ethical boundaries; basic computer competency; knowledge of local recovery resources.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing
- Must be 21 years of age
- Knowledge of addictions preferred
- At least 2 continuous years of sustained recovery
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Required Training: The Department of Children and Families approved Peer Recovery Support Service training including Ethics and Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
Desired Qualifications
