Job Summary
Build authentic, trusting relationships with patients as a peer mentor, advocate, and recovery coach to help them define and achieve meaningful recovery goals. Educate patients and families about mental health and substance use disorders while connecting them with community resources, housing, and employment services. Utilize recovery planning tools like Wellness Recovery Action Plans to develop personalized wellness strategies and facilitate peer-focused groups that strengthen coping skills. Maintain timely, accurate documentation and collect program data to support coordinated care and measure outcomes. Partner with treatment teams to implement person-centered recovery plans reflecting each patient's strengths and aspirations. Work Monday through Friday from 5:00am to 1:00pm with rotating Saturday shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment requiring full certification after supervision hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health.
- Eligible to register under the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
- Full certification after completion of supervision hours
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) or Peer Recovery Coach certification.
