Job Summary
Support the Admissions or Clinical Director by serving as a role model, mentor, and advocate for clients in recovery, assisting them in identifying and accessing resources for long-term stability. Conduct ongoing engagement with former patients, particularly those who did not complete the program, providing support via phone and email while updating the Kipu system with client outcomes. Facilitate connections to mutual self-help groups, transport clients to referral sources or safe environments, and coach them on independent use of community resources. Collaborate with Individual Recovery Management Teams to address obstacles to service access, assist clients in identifying professional support needs, and ensure discharge plans are implemented. Complete necessary documentation, reports, and data capture in accordance with Stabilization Center processes, while maintaining relationships with community groups and agencies. Perform client room searches to ensure program compliance and check for contraband and cleanliness.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of Connecticut Community for Recovery (CCAR) training
- Zero (0) to two (2) years or more experience in field or related field
- A valid driver's license
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn in-house software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Personal belief in recovery and the recovery process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High energy, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage clients flexibly based on their individual needs
- Respect for and maintenance of professional boundaries with all individuals
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking English
- Successful background check
- Drug test completion
- Full physical mobility including the ability to bend, lift, twist, reach, and perform other physical activities necessary for the safe and effective execution of job duties
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- CPR/AED and de-escalation skills certification
- Previous experience in a peer recovery support role or similar environment
