Job Summary
The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served to help them explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals, and provides consultation to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture per RCCS. The role requires handling critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation in a least-restrictive environment, with shifts on a Full-Time basis (Days: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Sunday - Thursday). Starting wage range is $21.00 - $22.52 per hour, with geographic differentials; pay is commensurate with experience. The position is based in Telecare's Central Orange County Homeless General Population program. Education and certifications required include a High School Diploma or GED, Peer Certification, Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification within 120 days of hire, and successful completion of peer training. A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance are required, with willingness to use either personal or company vehicles to transport clients to appointments and meetings. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire
- California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of hire
- One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
- Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc.
