Job Summary
Provide direct services to clients in their homes, including teaching daily living skills (hygiene, laundry, apartment cleaning), budgeting, shopping, meal planning, and safety; monitor apartment maintenance and report issues; administer/teach medication self-administration; monitor client progress and document services; escort clients as needed and facilitate groups; build self-advocacy and recovery skills; participate in training and duties as assigned by supervisory staff; role requires lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homeless services and involves part-time, hourly work in Queens (Jamaica) with in-person service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Lived experience receiving mental health, substance use, and/or homeless services; commitment to assist others in attaining recovery goals
- Completion of or on track to receive NYC Peer Program certification preferred
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Basic computer and data entry skills
Desired Qualifications
- NYCPS certification preferred
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homeless services
