Job Summary
The Peer Mentor Program Manager is responsible for supervising program staff, developing and updating laws, policies, and regulations governing the Peer Mentoring program. The role requires knowledge of re-entry services, effective behavior management, and strong communication skills to maintain positive relationships with staff, partners, funders, and the community. Key responsibilities include providing training, performance evaluations, managing program budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering interactive mentoring activities. Prior experience in case management, social services, or related fields is essential, alongside a demonstrated ability to work with formerly incarcerated individuals.
Required Qualifications
- Lived experience with the criminal justice system
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate Degree with relevant experience
- High School Diploma with relevant experience
- Computer proficiency with standard programs
- Must provide acceptable results from required background checks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation
- Ability to conduct intakes and provide direct services as needed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of current best practices in the delivery of re-entry services
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of funding sources and regulations governing operations of various programs
- Experience providing vocational services, training, mentoring, or working closely with individuals involved with the criminal justice system
- Ability to interpret human behavior and knowledge of effective behavior management techniques
