Job Summary
Peer Mentor provides academic support and mentoring for first-semester students, building mentoring relationships, guiding access to CSP resources (Navigate 360, CSP Connect, MyCourses, Navigate), and encouraging engagement with CSP opportunities. Responsibilities include meeting with assigned students monthly, documenting interactions, following up on student alerts, referring students to appropriate resources, coordinating a social activity, and attending Peer Advisor Training with an emphasis on helping new students acclimate and access available services.
Required Qualifications
- Completed at least 2 full semesters at Concordia University
- In good academic standing (preference to CGPA 2.50 or higher)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent listening skills
- Outgoing and approachable personality
- Passionate about mentoring and working with new students
- Passionate about Concordia University
- Fall and Spring Semesters: Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergraduate)
- Summer Semester: Students must have summer enrollment or be enrolled in the upcoming fall semester.
