Job Summary
Assist Gavilan College's diverse student population by helping students apply to the college, complete the enrollment process, submit financial aid forms, schedule counseling appointments, and connect with campus resources. Provide exceptional customer service in the Welcome Center while supporting students one-on-one and working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and fellow Peer Mentors to create a welcoming environment. Maintain confidentiality when handling student information and work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule based on class availability. Available at both Gilroy and Hollister campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Current Gavilan College student
- Not in your first or last semester at Gavilan College
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- At least one academic year remaining before graduation
- one-year commitment required
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units during the Fall and Spring semesters
- Must enroll in GUID 52: Tutoring (1 unit)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Gavilan College programs and student services
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling student information
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Live Scan clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Passion for helping fellow students succeed
