Job Summary
Conduct campus tours and events from start to finish, providing prospective and high school students with information on college selection, applications, and financial aid. Assist students in completing the FAFSA, TASFA, and Apply Texas applications while guiding them through academic and career options. Support the planning, preparation, and execution of New Student Orientation events, including hands-on set-up and tear-down tasks. Perform other duties as assigned within a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend hours. This role requires general knowledge of college access, strong time management, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have general knowledge around college access and completion
- Must be mature, responsible, organized, and be able to pay attention to details
- Must have strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
- Must be classified by Dallas College as a Texas resident
- Must be registered with Selective Service or be exempt
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Must Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards set by Dallas College
- Must be enrolled and certified in at least six hours (half time) for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, in a plan leading to a degree or certification
- Must not have any prior institutional balance or blocks
- Must not be a recipient of an athletic scholarship during any semester the student is awarded WSMP funds
- Must not be enrolled in a seminary or other program leading to ordination or licensure to preach for a religious sect or to be a member of a religious order
- Must not owe back child support obligation to the State
- Must be able to get involved in all aspects of event execution, including set-up, tear-down, and other physical tasks
- Must be available for evening and weekend hours as needed within a flexible schedule
- Must be able to assist with conducting campus tours and campus events from start to finish
- Must be able to provide essential information to prospective students about higher education, including the college selection process, the application process, and financial aid options
- Must be able to provide information to high school students about academic and career options
- Must be able to provide information to high school students about Dallas College student success and instructional departments that support: the application processes, financial aid options, and campus resources
- Must be able to assist students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
- Must be able to assist students in completing the Apply Texas application
- Must be able to assist with the planning, preparation and execution of New Student Orientation events
- Must be willing to be subject to a criminal background check
- Must be willing to be subject to a fingerprint check
