Job Summary
Provide peer support, recovery-oriented coaching, and mentorship to members while serving as a positive role model. Conduct facility tours for new member orientation, coordinate housing placements and room assignments, and help members navigate program expectations and resources. Collaborate with clinical, admissions, facilities, and support teams to promote member success, maintain accurate documentation, and develop member leadership opportunities for the Freedom Guide Program. This role requires Peer and Recovery Support Specialist certification, a Behavioral Health Technician designation, and one year of related experience. Located in a behavioral health residential treatment environment, the position involves frequent movement throughout facilities and occasional local travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Peer and Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification required
- Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) designation required
- Minimum one year of peer support, behavioral health, recovery services, reentry services, or related experience
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems
- Occasional local travel for program-related activities
Desired Qualifications
- Lived recovery experience and willingness to appropriately use that experience to support others preferred
- Experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, substance use treatment, corrections, or reentry programs preferred
- Experience conducting orientations, mentoring, coaching, or facilitating groups preferred
