Job Summary
Conduct outreach, engagement, and acculturation for participants struggling with mental illness, homelessness, and substance abuse. Provide crisis intervention services and supportive counseling to reduce self-destructive behaviors while promoting sobriety, harm reduction, and medication compliance. Assist clients in building self-esteem by accompanying them to apartment viewings, appointments, and teaching daily living skills. Collaborate with case management staff, encourage access to specialized community support, and facilitate groups to promote socialization. Document all interactions and apply peer mentor training to foster independent living. Bilingual in Spanish and English; personal experience with the specified issues required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to form interpersonal relationships with others
- Ability to influence and persuade others in positive activities
