Job Summary
Peer Advocate at CAMBA's Broadway House Women’s Shelter in Brooklyn conducts field outreach to address community complaints, de-escalates potential incidents involving clients with mental health and trauma histories, educates clients on the Good Neighbor Policy, and builds relationships with local businesses and community stakeholders. Works with case managers to help clients move toward self-sufficiency, documents interactions, and attends staff and external meetings. Requires a high school diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience; First Aid/CPR certification may be required; overdose-prevention certification may be required; bilingual preferred. Compensation is $18.50 per hour, with full-time status (35 hours/week) and a comprehensive benefits package.
