Job Summary
Conduct complex technical procedures and assist in heart catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and ablations for patients from neonates to geriatrics. Operate at a high level of technical competency while safely using ionizing radiation for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional procedures. Maintain initiative and ingenuity under limited supervision while commanding strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Complete annual revalidation with work area leadership to maintain Level II status on the imaging clinical ladder. Perform continuous standing, walking, and fine manipulation tasks in a confined, high-stress environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
- ARRT registration
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least two years of modality specific experience
- Successfully complete the Imaging Specialist Clinical Ladder Program and be endorsed as a level III
- Complete the revalidation process annually with work area leadership to remain as a level II
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Maintain corrected vision 20/40 (one or both eyes)
- Recognize objects (near/far)
- Color discrimination
- Depth perception
- Peripheral vision
- Hearing acuity (with correction)
- Tactile sensory function
- Gross motor with fine motor coordination
- Olfactory (smell) function
- Respirator use qualification
- Effective stress management
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Work in a latex-safe environment
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for on call
- Must be able to work day shift 7a-3:30p M-F (40 hours a week)
Desired Qualifications
- Cath lab or Cardiovascular specialty certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Current PALS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification (if not already held)
- Ability to act with initiative and ingenuity under limited supervision
- High-level of technical competency
- Strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
- Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets
- Flexible to rotate
