Job Summary
Greet patients with compassion, take vital signs, and accurately record data in the electronic database. Assist patients with examinations, prepare them for procedures, and administer medications as directed. Serve as a primary health educator, obtain prior authorizations, and mail or call regarding lab results. Maintain clinical areas, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment like crash carts and autoclaves are operational. Communicate with providers and staff to address patient needs and office issues. Mentor new nursing staff, enroll patients in myHMG, and maintain Health Department records for vaccinations. Perform customer service checks every 10 minutes and fulfill required shifts for after-hours and weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- LPN license by the state in which employed
- 0 -2 years experience
- CPR certified
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Must have 7 day availablility
- Must fulfill required shifts to provide coverage for After-hours/weekend Peds Clinic
- Must be able to remain upright on the feet, particularly 75% of the time
- Must be able to move about on foot to accomplish tasks
- Must be able to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and/ or by bending leg and spine
- Must be able to extend the hands and arms in any direction
- Must be able to exert force upon an object so that an object moves away/toward the force
- Must be able to pick, pinch, type or otherwise work, primarily with fingers
- Must be able to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
- Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and/ or distractions
- Must be able to make appropriate job decisions following standard office policies and past precedents
- Must be able to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public
- Must be able to interact appropriately with colleagues and patients for different purposes and different context
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time
- Must be able to move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
- Must be able to work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operations
- Must be able to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
- Must be able to identify and distinguish colors
