Job Summary
Provide comprehensive medical care for infants through early adulthood, including preventive medicine, behavioral assessments, and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Examine patients to establish diagnoses, order diagnostic testing, and prescribe medications and immunizations while maintaining a program of health for children. Prepare medical histories, document patient assessments in electronic medical records, and complete required reports. Consult with the Chief Medical Officer and participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and monitor quality assurance data. Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and wellness resources. Maintain cultural competency with diverse populations and practice medicine in accordance with La Red Health Center standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and completion of a residency program
- Board certification in specialty or completion of accredited residency in pediatrics
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine within the State of Delaware
- Current DEA certificate without restriction
- Current Delaware Controlled Substance Certificate
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and to work with multi-cultural, diverse patient population
- Computer use and proficiency
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, manipulate and squat
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to walk or stand for more than four hours per day
- Ability to work in a standard medical office setting including use of a computer, and standard office equipment
- Ability to read computer screens, printed materials
- Ability to hear and speech to communicate in person as well as over the phone
- Ability to attend meetings or make presentations at various sites when required
