Job Summary
Provide pediatric primary care for infants through adolescents (up to age 18) including well-child exams, vaccinations, preventive care, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Diagnose and treat illnesses, develop care plans, prescribe medications, and order/tests as needed. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare staff; educate families on health, nutrition, safety, development, and disease management; maintain timely EMR documentation; participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives. Occasional telemedicine work from office or remote settings; potential extended hours, evenings, or on-call responsibilities. Focus on culturally competent, patient-centered care within a tribal community setting (Catawba Nation).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical School (MD/DO)
- Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Licensure: Valid, active, and unrestricted South Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA license and prescriptive authority
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) such as Epic, Athena, Cerner
- Ability to work with Native American/tribal communities
- Strong communication and clinical skills
- Commitment to patient-centered, culturally competent care
